A safe space to live, learn & thrive
For more than 25 years, our founder worked closely with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities — first as a special education teacher, teaching life skills and helping students navigate their communities with growing confidence. Along the way, she watched students achieve so much.
But after graduation, the structure and support of the school years often disappeared. Parents of former students began calling, searching for resources and options. And a chance encounter with a former student who did not have a stable place to live made one question impossible to ignore: what happens after high school?

Founder & CEO, ROOM2REACH LLC
For more than 25 years, our founder has dedicated her career to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) — as a special education teacher and, above all, as someone who saw each student's potential. She taught life skills and helped students learn to navigate their communities with confidence, purpose, and growing independence.
Over the years, a painful pattern emerged. Students who had made incredible progress during the school years stepped into an uncertain future after graduation. Support and structure became harder to find. Some families couldn't provide continued care. Others didn't know where to turn. And one encounter made it devastatingly real — a former student who did not have a stable place to live.
What happens after high school? This is the question ROOM2REACH LLC was born to answer.
We believe adulthood should include dignity, safety, belonging, continued learning, meaningful participation in community — and a bridge toward greater independence. ROOM2REACH LLC is built on that belief: a safe space to live, learn, and thrive.
ROOM2REACH LLC serves Houston and Harris County and is now accepting referrals, with services beginning October 5, 2026. This organization was founded from years of experience, countless relationships, and a deep commitment to ensuring that no adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities is left without hope, opportunity, or a place to call home.
